About the role
Location: Laurens, SC One of our clients is seeking an experienced CNC Technician to set up, program, and operate CNC machining centers and secondary production equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate single or multiple CNC machining centers, including CNC lathes and mills.
- Program and adjust CNC machining processes to manufacture close-tolerance components.
- Install fixtures, tooling, and pre-set tools for production.
- Read and interpret blueprints, metric drawings, routers, and technical specifications.
- Inspect finished components using measuring devices, special gauges, and fixtures.
- Ensure products meet quality and specification requirements.
- Support production engineering during the design and launch of new production projects.
- Work with the Quality department to establish efficient setups and programming processes.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and production setups.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and assist maintenance personnel with equipment repairs.
- Identify safety concerns and recommend process or equipment improvements.
- Maintain equipment and work areas in accordance with 5S standards.
- Follow all applicable safety and Quality System Requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of CNC machining experience.
- Strong CNC programming experience.
- Experience with CNC lathes and mills.
- Knowledge of machining aluminum components.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and metric drawings.
- Knowledge of GD&T and Core Tools.
- Experience with CNC adjustments, tooling, and process improvements.
- Automotive manufacturing experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience using measuring and inspection equipment.
- High attention to detail and good eyesight.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliable attendance and a stable work history.
- Valid driver's license required.
