Role Overview
Our team is looking for a skilled CNC Programmer who possesses deep expertise in 5-axis operations to assist in the production and programming of high-precision parts. You will play a key role in developing, refining, and resolving issues with CNC programs, while collaborating alongside production staff, engineers, and machinists to guarantee that our components meet quality standards and are delivered on schedule.
Core Duties
- Develop and modify CNC code for 3, 4, and 5-axis equipment.
- Design effective machining workflows, tool paths, and setup guides for intricate parts.
- Analyze and translate technical blueprints, CAD files, and GD&T specifications.
- Determine the best tooling, feed rates, spindle speeds, and overall manufacturing methods.
- Assist the shop floor team during machine setups, initial prove-outs, and active production cycles to ensure smooth operations.
- Address and resolve programming, machining, or quality-related challenges as they occur.
- Refine current programs to help boost overall production efficiency and cycle times.
- Work in tandem with manufacturing and engineering departments to facilitate new product introductions and drive process enhancements.
- Help maintain a safe and high-quality production environment by ensuring all programs adhere to strict standards.
- Organize and manage all program files, tooling history, and manufacturing documentation.
Required Skills
- Minimum of three years of professional CNC programming experience within a manufacturing setting.
- Direct experience in programming simultaneous 5-axis machining platforms.
- Skilled in using CAM platforms like Mastercam, NX, Fusion 360, Tebis, HyperMill, or comparable software.
- Capable of interpreting complex CAD models, blueprints, and GD&T requirements.
- Solid grasp of machining fundamentals, including workholding, cutting tools, and optimal speeds and feeds.
- Proven background in performing machine setups, prove-outs, and refining manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with various CNC control systems such as Siemens, Heidenhain, or Fanuc.
- Strong analytical abilities to troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems.
Desired Qualifications
- Background in precision industries such as medical, automotive, aerospace, or defense.
- Familiarity with CMM inspection tools, probing systems, and automation technologies.
- Experience assisting with the installation of new machinery and developing related processes.
- Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and lean manufacturing principles.
