CNC Machinist

About This Role

Working as a CNC Machinist involves managing changeovers, tool offsets, and tooling replacement, as well as training operators. This role requires a deep understanding of machine operation, tooling, technical drawings, metrology, and GD&T, and the ability to foster positive relationships with operators and assembly personnel. An experienced machinist will contribute to reducing downtime and enhancing workforce efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Touch off tools and change tool offsets to ensure quality parts
• Inspect and replace damaged tooling
• Change over to new jobs as needed
• Load programs for parts to be run
• Properly load and unload parts into machines
• Check parts with various types of metrology equipment, including calipers, micrometers, pin gages, thread gages, ring gages, refractometer, and scales
• Clock in and out of jobs and log time correctly
• Qualify good and bad parts and sort accordingly
• Stand for long periods of time
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to work in a shop setting
• Good math and analytical skills
• Good written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
• Must be eligible to work on programs subject to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations)
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S. Permanent Resident ('Green Card')

• 2-3 years of Operator experience

• CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC) (Haas, Doosan, Brother, Hurco, Dmg Mori Seiki)
• CAM Software (Mastercam)
