JOB SUMMARY

A Clinical Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for planning, supervising and evaluating the nursing care of patients under supervision of the physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner. Responsible for assisting the physician in providing direct patient care and health teaching designed to meet the age/developmental specific needs of the health care patients. Delivers quality care by offering excellent customer service by participating in a team centered approach towards patient care. Collaboration with the Provider and nursing staff regarding patient care, holistic care involving patient families, proficiency in order entry, providing clerical and patient related support in the functional areas of record keeping, scheduling, and utilizing knowledge of office policy and procedure, verification of patient demographics, patient record filing and retention, verification of physician orders, scheduling patients for appointments and referrals, preparation of patient for exam, patient billing and payments, meet and greet patients and maintain office supplies. Prefer experience in phlebotomy and laboratory testing/specimen preparation. Excellent PC skills.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Medical Office Assistant Certification and validated MA education required.

Experience: A minimum of one (1) year experience is preferred

Licenses/Certificates: C ertificate, credentials, or a medical assistant degree, required.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired concerning the personal, financial, and medical or employment status or patients of Bradley Medical Center and their families.

  2. Must follow and enforce accepted safety practices for patients and clinic.

  3. Participate in Performance Improvement activities.

  4. Utilize the nursing process to oversee and provide age specific patient care.

  5. Communicate in an acceptable, easily understood manner.
