Cloud Platform Infrastructure Engineer (GCP)

Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Cloud Platform Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, secure, and operate enterprise-scale Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments. The role requires expertise in cloud infrastructure, networking, security, automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD, and customer-facing cloud transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage GCP infrastructure, including Projects, VPCs, networking, and security controls.
- Provision, optimize, secure, and monitor cloud resources to meet reliability and performance objectives (SLOs).
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement IAM, RBAC, resource governance, and security best practices across cloud environments.
- Support cloud architecture, capacity planning, cost optimization, and operational excellence.
- Troubleshoot platform-wide issues and drive incident resolution.
- Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders on cloud migrations, architecture reviews, and technical workshops.
Required Technical Skills
GCP Foundations & Security
- IAM, Identity Federation, Service Accounts, and RBAC.
- Network security, VM security, Secret Manager, and Cloud KMS.
- Expertise in securing multi-tenant GCP environments.
Networking
- VPC Design, Shared VPC, VPC Peering.
- VPN Connectivity and Cloud DNS.
- Firewall implementation and security controls.
Automation & IaC
- Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- CI/CD tools such as Cloud Build and GitHub.
- Experience building reusable, production-ready Terraform modules.
GCP Workloads
Hands-on experience in at least two of the following:
- Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
- Google Compute Engine (GCE)
- Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE)
- Cloud Run / Cloud Functions
Good to Have
- Cloud Logging, Monitoring, Alerting, and Aggregated Log Sinks.
- Security Command Center (SCC).
- Organization Policies, Governance, and Compliance Controls.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, networking, cloud security, and monitoring on a major CSP.
- 2+ years of customer-facing experience, including technical troubleshooting and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience delivering cloud migration projects from assessment through operations.
Certifications (Mandatory)
Candidates must hold at least one of the following GCP Professional Certifications:
- Professional Cloud Architect (PCA)
- Professional Cloud Security Engineer (PCSE)
- Professional Cloud Network Engineer (PCNE)
Preferred Profile
- Strong background in GCP platform engineering and cloud security.
- Experience with landing zones, multi-tenant architectures, and platform governance.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Terraform, DevOps, and automation expertise.
