About This Role
This night-shift post on the cardiac ward pairs patient care with mentoring new nurses.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the AMIR multi-cloud integration architecture — AWS (primary compute/event backbone), GCP (Apigee X), SAP BTP IS, Azure (DevOps + Entra ID)
- Design the AWS serverless event-driven architecture: EventBridge bus topology, MSK (Kafka) topic design, Lambda function architecture, DynamoDB GNN Routing Table schema (4-state machine)
- Own HES and MDMS cloud hosting architecture — HA/DR design, network topology, VPC configuration, multi-AZ deployment
- Author Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and cloud architecture documentation; present to SoCalGas architecture review board
- Govern Terraform IaC strategy across AWS, GCP, and Azure environments
- Design security architecture for cloud components — IAM roles/policies, KMS encryption, VPC security groups, PrivateLink
- Support AWS Kiro Code Generation phase — review and validate Kiro-generated CDK artifacts against architecture standards
- Engage with AWS Strategic Programmes team as AWS Ambassador; leverage AWS funding/support mechanisms for AMIR
Requirements
- AWS Platinum certification required (AWS Solutions Architect Professional minimum)
- AWS Ambassador programme participant strongly preferred
- Deep hands-on architecture and design experience with AWS EventBridge, MSK/Kafka, Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway
- Terraform IaC — multi-account AWS organisation design, cross-cloud IaC governance
- Multi-cloud architecture — AWS primary, GCP (Apigee/GKE), Azure (DevOps/Entra ID), SAP BTP IS connectivity
- HES/MDMS cloud hosting architecture in utility AMI environments preferred
- DR design — RTO/RPO definition, cross-region failover, backup strategy
- Willing to relocate to LA; onshore travel to SoCalGas offices required
- 12+ years cloud architecture experience; utility or critical infrastructure preferred
