About This Role
This Cloud Architect role involves designing scalable, reusable, secure, and automated cloud infrastructure using code. The position focuses on defining standards, patterns, frameworks, and governance models for cloud platforms, going beyond mere implementation. It suits an architect with a strong vision for infrastructure-as-code and platform engineering.
Responsibilities
- Design the architecture and strategy for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for Cloud platforms
- Design and evolve reusable modules, frameworks, and templates using Terraform and/or OpenTofu
- Define infrastructure architectures on Microsoft Azure and/or AWS
- Establish IaC standards, patterns, guidelines, and best practices for technology teams
- Design governance, versioning, and lifecycle models for infrastructure components
- Define and integrate automation processes using CI/CD pipelines, utilizing GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or equivalent tools
- Design solutions considering scalability, availability, security, maintainability, and automation
- Work with Cloud, DevOps, Development, Security, and Operations teams, providing technical guidelines and promoting the adoption of standards
- Participate in the evolution of Platform Engineering and Internal Developer Platforms (IDP) capabilities
Requirements
- Proven experience in architecture and design of IaC / Platform Engineering solutions
- Solid practical experience with Terraform and/or OpenTofu
- Experience designing and developing reusable infrastructure modules, frameworks, or templates
- Experience working on Microsoft Azure and/or AWS
- Experience with repositories and pipelines using GitHub, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or equivalents
- Experience defining standards, patterns, governance, and best practices for infrastructure
- Demonstrable ability to design solutions and architectures, not just implement them
