About the role

Piper Companies is seeking a Clinical Project Manager to join a leading clinical research organization supporting global drug development programs. The Clinical Project Manager will oversee Phase I-III clinical trials, ensuring studies are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. This Clinical Project Manager opportunity is ideal for an experienced project management professional with CRO experience and a strong background in global clinical trial execution. The Clinical Project Manager role is a direct placement and requires you to work hybrid in Raleigh (RTP), NC. Responsibilities of the Clinical Project Manager:

  • Manage and oversee Phase I-III clinical trials from study start-up through closeout.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for sponsors and key stakeholders throughout the study lifecycle.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams to ensure clinical milestones, deliverables, and timelines are achieved.
  • Monitor project financials, including forecasting, budgeting, and overall financial oversight.
  • Participate in bid defenses and business development meetings to support new client opportunities.
  • Assess project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure proactive issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with global study teams, vendors, and clinical operations personnel to ensure successful study execution.
  • Ensure compliance with GCP, ICH guidelines, sponsor requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.

Requirements of the Clinical Project Manager:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Healthcare, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of Clinical Project Management experience within a CRO environment.
  • Proven experience managing Phase I-III clinical trials.
  • Therapeutic Areas Required: Oncology, CNS, Immunology, Cell & Gene Therapy, Rare Disease, etc.
  • Experience leading large, global, multi-center clinical studies is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical trial operations, project planning, and risk management.
  • Demonstrated experience participating in bid defenses and business development activities.
  • Experience with project budgeting, forecasting, and financial oversight.

Compensation for the Clinical Project Manager:

  • $140,000 - $170,000 base salary
  • Full Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, PTO, Paid Holiday and Sick Leave if Required by Law.
