Role Overview The Graduate Nurse provides direct patient care activities, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, following nursing standards after completing a nursing program and before licensure. The role requires obtaining licensure within 90 days of graduation to maintain employment.
Responsibilities
- Promote patient and family-centered care in a healing environment, including education on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration.
- Assess and evaluate patients’ physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs using critical nursing skills.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans collaboratively with the healthcare team.
- Evaluate patient responses and modify care plans accordingly throughout their stay.
- Participate in activities that ensure patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, and engage in professional development.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum education: Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree in Nursing; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- No prior experience required; must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
Additional Information
- Cross-training to postpartum nursing is available.
- Experience in NICU, Special Care Nursery, or Pediatrics (inpatient) is preferred.
