About the role
The Department of Clinical Laboratories at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full time Clinical Lab Technologist / TH Clinical Laboratory Technologist 2, Blood Bank. The successful candidate will:
- Perform all aspects of blood bank testing, including but not limited to ABO/Rh Typing, Crossmatching, antibody detection, and identification with appropriate follow-ups.
- Maintain quality control of equipment and reagents.
- Manage meticulous record-keeping and utilizes follow-up skills.
- Perform additional job-related duties and responsibilities as required and/or as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Physical, or Biological Science.
- New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist Licensure.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASCP certification.
- Prior blood bank work experience.
