Clinical Director

About This Role

Directing the clinical departments of an ambulatory surgical center is the core of this role, which involves hiring, evaluating, mentoring, scheduling, and supervising staff. The position suits a professional with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, capable of fostering continued business growth and ensuring sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and develop the ambulatory surgical center’s clinical departments
• Hire, evaluate, mentor, schedule, and supervise staff
• Implement staff development programs
• Manage quality assurance
• Monitor budgets for service programs
• Work and communicate effectively with other members of the management team
• Develop and plan strategies to manage program growth and ensure business sustainability
• Generate revenues for clinical services
• Handle client billings
• Ensure knowledge and adherence to regulations such as Joint Commission, CMS standards of care, fiscal budgets, and performance improvement
• Attend all mandatory in-services and meetings
• Attend annual Safety and Competency education session
• Act in accordance with the vision, mission, and business of the Center

Requirements

• Professional experience with management and staff supervision, including working with a team
• Graduate of a professional school of Nursing
• BSN required; MSN preferred
• Current license as a TX Registered Nurse
• Current certification in BLS and Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• 2-5 years’ operating room/critical care experience
• At least two years’ supervisory experience in the outpatient surgery area
• Good command of the English language, both verbal and written
• Ability to work well with physicians, employees, patients, and others
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities of a Staff Nurse

Nice to have:

• Ambulatory experience
• Surgical experience in the clinical areas of pre-op/PACU or perioperative nursing
