Summary
Assess, plans and implements specific treatment programs for individual patients according to the standards of nutrition therapy. Provides care for inpatient and/or outpatient caseload. Occasional weekend and/or holiday coverage if staffing needs warrant. Collaborates with an interdisciplinary treatment team regarding the needs of the patient. Opportunities to contribute to presentations, publications, supervision of students/interns, and execution of departmental education efforts which will contribute to advancement in the Clinical Ladder.
Responsibilities:
- Complete assessments and reassessment of assigned patients in accordance to established standards of care and practice including selecting assessment tools, tests and measures, goal setting, etc.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team planning and coordination of care.
- Participate in education in-services, presentations, etc., as needed.
- Accurately performs documentation on each evaluation and treatment session within the electronic medical record and accurately documents billing charges.
Credentials and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in nutrition
- Current Registration with CDR or RD eligible with successful registration within 6 months of hire date.
- Temporary Florida licensure required if not currently licensed in the State of Florida
- BLS Certification
- One year of clinical experience preferred. Clinical experience in an acute care hospital during Dietitian externship will be accepted.
