Clinical Dietetic Technician (CDT)
Overview
C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center (Bay Pines VAMC) is seeking multiple Clinical Dietetic Technicians (CDTs) to provide onsite nutrition and food service support in a hospital setting.
Position Details
- Work Type: Full-time, Onsite
- Labor Category: Health Technician (Dietetic)
Schedule
- Rotating shifts, 7 days/week (including holidays)
- Day: 5:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Evening: 10:30 AM – 7:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Tray assembly and meal delivery
- Diet order processing
- Support therapeutic diet implementation
- Collaborate with clinical staff
- Ensure compliance with VA dietary guidelines
Minimum Qualifications
- DTR Certification, OR
- Bachelor’s degree or 24+ semester hours in a nutrition-related field
Required Experience & Skills
- Hospital food service experience (tray line, delivery, diet orders)
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets: IDDSI, Renal, Diabetic, Cardiac, MNT
- Ability to stand/walk up to 8 hours and lift up to 35 lbs
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays
