Clinical Assistant

We are an ophthalmology practice located in Alexandra District Hospital, that provides a supportive and respectful working environment while we care for our patients, many of whom are elderly. We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and proactive individual to join our team as a Clinical Assistant.

This role is a regular casual position for one Wednesday per fortnight.

Qualifications & expectations

• The successful candidate will need to display high motivation and be proactive and eager to learn.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently after training.
• Experience in a clinical setting is preferred but is not a requirement, as all training will be provided on site.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• A high level of commitment to the role and a proactive attitude.
• A strong team player who works well with colleagues in a fast-paced environment.

Tasks & responsibilities

• This is a Clinical Assistant position, in which you will work closely with and assist the Ophthalmologist in a busy Hospital outpatient setting in regional Victoria.
• Tasks will include pre-testing of patients' vision and eye pressures, conducting imaging tests, and preparing patients for laser and injection procedures.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and help to ensure a smooth patient flow.
• The role is a casual position for one Wednesday per fortnight.
