As a/an Tax Certification Analyst within Client Tax Operations, you review and validate IRS forms, tax documents, and identification records to certify accounts subject to U.S. federal income tax withholding. You process tax profile updates across client systems, perform due diligence across defined checkpoints, and ensure downstream data accuracy while meeting SLAs and quality standards. You strengthen a control-focused environment, serve as an escalation point, and drive process improvements and continuous enhancements with cross-LOB stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities
- Validate IRS forms, tax documents, and IDs and complete certification for accounts subject to U.S. federal income tax withholding.
- Process tax profile updates and daily client data maintenance (e.g., address, TIN changes) across multiple client systems accurately.
- Verify that updates propagate correctly to downstream systems and are reflected accurately.
- Monitor queues, mailboxes, and databases to ensure timely clearance and SLA adherence.
- Maintain SOPs, support training material development, and deliver training on new and revised processes.
- Escalate complex/critical scenarios appropriately and serve as an escalation point for team and select cross-department issues.
- Drive process improvements, control platform execution, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and risk management.
Required qualifications, skills and capabilities
- Experience in tax operations or client data processing with knowledge of IRS forms and tax documentation validation
- Strong controls and risk management mindset with ability to perform due diligence across defined checkpoints and parameters
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with ability to meet deadlines in a high-volume environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to work independently and in a team
Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities
- Knowledge of US tax forms such as W-8 and W-9 and related withholding/certification requirements
- Experience maintaining SOPs, delivering training, and supporting control function platform implementation
- Experience driving process improvements and system enhancements with cross-LOB stakeholders aligned to strategic end state
- Familiarity with Investment Bank businesses and knowledge of US and non-US regulations
