Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
We are looking for a Driver Operator to join our team based in New Plymouth. This exciting opportunity sits within the NPIP (New Plymouth Infrastructure Partnership), a collaborative venture between New Plymouth District Council and Downer.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, is physically fit, and is keen to develop a career in the civil construction industry. You'll work alongside an experienced crew across a variety of infrastructure, maintenance and renewal projects, operating trucks and machinery while also assisting with hands-on tasks to support the team.
Whether you're already working in the industry or looking to build your career in a practical, rewarding environment, this is a great opportunity to learn new skills, gain industry experience and grow with a well-established employer.

We're looking for someone with a great attitude, a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. You'll also have:

A minimum Class 2 Licence

Physical fitness and the ability to work in a hands-on outdoor environment

A positive, can-do attitude and a strong commitment to teamwork

A commitment to safe working practices

Flexibility to work shifts as required

WTR endorsements would be an advantage but are not essential

Experience in civil construction, road maintenance or operating machinery is beneficial, but not necessary
