Claims Adjuster

About This Role

This role involves managing the claims process from beginning to end, investigating insurance claims, evaluating coverage and damages, and negotiating settlements. The individual will work closely with clients, policyholders, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate claim settlements, utilizing strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Investigate insurance claims, evaluating damages and determining coverage eligibility
• Review and analyze policy documents, claim forms, and other relevant documentation
• Communicate with policyholders, witnesses, and third-party experts to gather necessary information
• Negotiate settlements with policyholders and claimants, and their representatives
• Collaborate with legal and medical professionals regarding complex claims
• Document claims process thoroughly and accurately in accordance with company guidelines
• Provide exceptional customer service to policyholders and stakeholders, addressing inquiries and concerns in a timely manner
• Mentor and support junior claims adjusters, providing guidance and training as needed

Requirements

• Experience in handling a range of General Liability losses spanning everything from trip and fall, to employers liability and occupational disease, plus Property Liability including but not limited to both first party and third party seepage and pollution liabilities
• Flexible approach and a willingness to diversify and expand knowledge creating an ability to handle a variety of losses
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work well with external parties as well as co-workers
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with current Microsoft Outlook and Office products
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Minimum of five years of claims handling experience

Nice to have:

• Adjuster licenses in multiple states
