This civil engineering role focuses on renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and battery energy storage systems, from planning and design to construction support. The position involves contributing to projects throughout their entire lifecycle and requires advanced English and French language proficiency due to global stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Perform civil engineering design and analysis for renewable energy projects, including wind farms, solar photovoltaic facilities, battery energy storage systems, and associated infrastructure
Develop site grading, drainage, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and access road designs
Support the design of foundations, platforms, hardstands, collector systems, and site infrastructure
Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, design drawings, specifications, and construction documentation
Coordinate site investigations and review topographical, geotechnical, hydrological, and environmental data
Support permitting and regulatory compliance activities associated with renewable energy developments
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, structural, geotechnical, environmental, and project management specialists
Review contractor submittals, construction documents, and technical deliverables
Participate in construction support activities, field inspections, and issue resolution
Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, codes, regulations, and industry best practices
Support project planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and technical proposal preparation
Contribute to project risk assessments and the development of mitigation strategies
Maintain effective communication with clients, project teams, contractors, and stakeholders in both English and French
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related engineering discipline
6 to 9 years of professional experience in civil engineering
Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal)
Ability to communicate effectively in multicultural and international project environments
Ability to prepare technical reports, engineering documentation, presentations, and client communications in both English and French
Experience supporting renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), or related infrastructure developments
Experience in site development, grading, drainage design, stormwater management, and earthworks engineering
Experience supporting projects through feasibility, detailed design, construction, and commissioning phases
Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles related to renewable energy infrastructure
