About the role
Engineer will be responsible for configuration and management of the Load Balancers on daily basis.
• Engineer will work with Application teams to build the required Load Balancing configuration as per defined standards.
• Performs as a high-level, Technical SME (subject matter expert) for the Load Balancing infrastructure at American Express.
• Has strong troubleshooting skills to resolve high-severity, business-impacting outages and incidents.
• Has responsibility for the technical direction of the platform(s)/applications within the supported portfolio.
• Expert level knowledge in networking protocols like TCP/IP, OSPF, and BGP is required.
• Expert level experience with F5 LoadBalancing iRules, HTTP profiles, SSL configurations and TCP profiles.
• Expert level knowledge in packet capture analysis.
• Expert level experience with Load Balancing vendor products like F5, AVI etc.
• Experience in Virtualization system administration like VMware (ESXi) and Cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure etc. is preferred.
• Works as Load Balancing architecture consultant to ensure Infrastructure configuration aligns to business and IT strategy.
• Partners with the American Express Technology Application/Hosting teams in determining the best practical solution following enterprise standards.
• Ensures accurate asset information is recorded/documented for the platform/application supported.
