About This Role
Working with the CEO on the operating plan and leading its execution across the business is the core of this Chief Operating Officer role. You will be responsible for operational efficiency, costs, service quality, and team performance, including resolving issues that affect day-to-day business.
Responsibilities
- Develop the annual operating plan with the CEO and Finance, including business targets, budgets, and staffing
- Adjust those plans as business conditions change
- Manage department leaders, establish clear responsibilities and deadlines, and resolve competing priorities and gaps between teams
- Review operating costs, turnaround times, error rates, and customer feedback
- Determine where additional staffing, process changes, or systems investment are needed
- Work with Product, Engineering, Risk, and Compliance to prepare for product launches and new partnerships, ensuring operations can support the planned activity
- Lead the response to major operational incidents
- Keep the CEO informed of the impact, progress, and decisions required, and follow through on corrective actions
- Develop the management team, define decision-making authority and performance expectations, and establish succession plans for critical roles
Requirements
- Senior operations leadership experience in fintech, payments, digital finance, or related financial services
- Experience managing multiple functions with direct accountability for budgets, service quality, and business results
- Sound judgment supported by financial and operating data, with specific examples of improving performance, controlling costs, or resolving complex problems
- Experience managing business expansion, organizational changes, or major systems implementations, working closely with Finance, Engineering, Risk, and Compliance
