Chief of Staff

About This Role

This Chief of Staff role is a critical right-hand position to the founding team of an ultrafast AI inference platform. The successful candidate will take ownership of many responsibilities currently handled by the CEO, overseeing them from start to finish. This role offers exposure to every facet of a rapidly expanding infrastructure company and is designed to grow with the individual.

Responsibilities

• Run data center operations, including bringing new capacity online, tracking SLAs, and resolving issues
• Support customers by serving as a point of contact for key accounts, coordinating onboarding, and managing escalations
• Manage contracts and partners, performing first-pass reviews of NDAs, MSAs, and partner agreements, working through redlines with counsel, and securing signatures
• Secure hardware supply by sourcing hardware, negotiating with data centers and capacity partners, and moving deals from initial contact to signed contract
• Drive company-wide projects, including compliance, pricing, launches, and internal processes to maintain rapid progress
• Support fundraising and investor relations, drafting investor updates, maintaining data rooms, and preparing for board meetings
• Provide leverage to the CEO by preparing for meetings, following up afterwards, and ensuring all tasks are completed

Requirements

• Extreme attention to detail
• Ability to take ownership of mission-critical projects end to end without requiring management
• 3–5 years in a high-ownership role, such as an early-stage startup, operations, BizOps, consulting, banking, or a technical role that has been outgrown
• Strong writer and confident negotiator with partners and vendors
• Technical understanding sufficient to credibly discuss GPUs, cloud infrastructure, and developer tools (an engineering background is a plus but not required)
• Ability to thrive with ambiguity and fast-shifting priorities
• Excited to work closely with customers and partners

Nice to have:

• Experience with data centers, hardware procurement, or cloud infrastructure
• Comfort reading contracts and structuring deals
• Previous experience at a YC or venture-backed startup
