About This Role

This hands-on leadership role involves overseeing and optimizing the organization's transport services while also leading its culture, brand, partnerships, and growth. It suits a visible and energetic leader who is comfortable in operations and engaging with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and optimize community transport services, lifting efficiency and growing funded services
• Build a positive, healthy culture following a period of change
• Manage government funding efficiently while pursuing alternative income streams, such as sponsorship, partnerships, and fee-for-service
• Strengthen the brand and raise its profile across the Gold Coast community, government, and industry
• Build relationships with sponsors, partners, funders, and all levels of government
• Oversee the implementation of a new volunteering CRM

Requirements

• Senior executive experience, ideally in a socially responsible organization
• Strong financial management skills in a funding-dependent environment
• A strong understanding of PR, brand building, and advocacy, while remaining politically neutral
• A proven ability to network and build sponsorship relationships
• A track record of building healthy workplace cultures
• Confidence with technology and system implementations
• Empathy, and an understanding of what it takes to work well with volunteers
• A current driver

Nice to have:

• Experience in logistics, community transport, aged care, disability services, volunteering or the not-for-profit sector

Volunteering Gold Coast (VGC) has connected people with their community through volunteering and community transport since 1998. It supports over 100 not-for-profit member organizations and runs community transport across the Gold Coast, Logan, and Tweed regions, with 38 staff and 200 volunteers.
