Chief Executive Officer

About This Role

Leading meaningful change for older adults in East Central Illinois is the core purpose of this Chief Executive Officer role. The CEO will build on the agency's strengths, expand its regional impact, and help shape the future of aging well across the region, working in partnership with the Board and leading an experienced staff.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Board in developing strategic direction and lead its implementation, translating Board priorities into organizational action, measurable progress, and long-term sustainability
• Serve as a regional leader and advocate, navigating changes in policy, funding, demographics, and the needs of older adults
• Strengthen partnerships across nonprofit, government, healthcare, and community sectors
• Lead and develop an experienced team, fostering collaboration, innovation, and accountability
• Lead strategic grantmaking, ensuring resources are invested effectively to address the evolving needs of older adults and caregivers

Requirements

• Strong organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and lead effectively across diverse stakeholders
• Five to seven years of successful management and leadership experience, with experience in older adult services, nonprofit leadership, human services, grantmaking, or a related field strongly preferred
• Undergraduate degree required
• Master's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Gerontology, Social Work, or a related field is preferred
