Chemist

About the role
We are looking for a Laboratory Chemist to supervise and manage laboratory operations, conduct analytical testing, and ensure compliance with quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and assign daily analysis jobs to laboratory assistants and field technicians
• Carry out wet chemistry and instrumental analysis such as UV-VIS Spectrophotometry, GC MS, Colorimetry, Gravimetry, Titrimetry and related methods
• Conduct daily and period internal calibration for various instruments
• Involvement in analysis calculations, verification and preparation of test reports
• Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with MS ISO/IEC 17025 requirements
• Develop new test methods, validate analytical performance (accuracy, precision, linearity, LOD/LOQ) and establish measurement uncertainty models for laboratory analysis

Minimum Requirements:

• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related science discipline.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory practices, chemical analysis, and laboratory safety.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Willing to learn and able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Good communication and report-writing skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Positive attitude, responsible, and eager to develop a career in the laboratory or chemical industry.
