About This Role

This chemist role involves managing and executing analytical tests, supervising laboratory staff, and maintaining high-sensitivity instruments. It suits a candidate with a background in chemistry or related science fields who can collaborate with R&D and ensure compliance with quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute tests within the assigned analytical scope in accordance with approved procedures and standards
• Supervise and provide guidance to a team of laboratory personnel to ensure efficient workflow, adherence to safety protocols, and timely delivery of results
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot high-sensitivity analytical instruments (e.g., GC-MS, ICP-MS, HPLC) to ensure accurate and reliable test outcomes
• Work closely with the R&D team on extension scope projects, including method development, feasibility studies, and technical evaluation of new testing parameters
• Assist QA/QC chemists in the validation of existing methods and the calculation and verification of measurement uncertainty in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements
• Ensure all activities are properly documented and aligned with regulatory, quality, and accreditation requirements
• Undertake training for implementation of new procedures and protocols
• Perform other roles as assigned by a superior

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biotechnology, Food Science, Microbiology, Industrial Chemistry, or related science fields
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply
• Confident and comfortable communicating with customers
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
