About This Role

This chemist role involves preparing and testing chemical compounds, developing new products and methods, and ensuring laboratory safety within a manufacturing environment. The position suits a chemist with industrial experience who can work in shifts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare test solutions, compounds, and reagents for conducting tests and advising and coordinating test procedures
• Determine chemical and physical properties, compositions, structures, relationships, and reactions of organic and inorganic compounds
• Use chromatography, spectroscopy, and spectrophotometry techniques
• Develop, improve, and customize products, equipment, formulas, processes, and analytical methods
• Confer with scientists and engineers to analyze, interpret, and develop tests
• Introduce heat, light, energy, and chemical catalysts to chemical substances to induce reactions
• Write technical papers and reports, and prepare standards and specifications for processes, tests, and products
• Maintain laboratory instruments, troubleshoot malfunctions, and purchase new laboratory supplies
• Evaluate and ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures and standards

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (preferred)
• 2 years of industrial chemist experience (preferred)
• Ability to work in shift times in the manufacturing industry
• Not related to the medical field
