Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist - Per Diem

Job Summary: Provides intravenous, spinal, and other anesthetics during surgical or medical procedures as part of an anesthesia care team, following established policies and procedures. Monitors patient reactions and vital signs throughout and after anesthesia, taking corrective actions when necessary. Maintains detailed records of anesthetic administration and patient condition, and performs procedures outside the OR as authorized.

Responsibilities Include

• Conducting or reviewing pre-operative anesthetic evaluations, consulting with anesthesiologists and surgeons.
• Reviewing patient charts, medications, lab results, and prostheses to ensure safety and compliance.
• Assessing airway and other potential difficulties, explaining procedures and risks to patients, and documenting thoroughly.
• Developing and implementing anesthesia care plans, administering anesthetics, and managing patient monitoring and care.
• Participating in post-anesthesia care, monitoring vital signs, and taking necessary remedial actions.
• Performing procedures outside the OR, such as intubation and arterial line placement, in accordance with policies and physician orders.
• Maintaining accurate, complete procedural and patient records.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing or anesthesia program; High School Diploma or GED required.
• Licensed as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and Registered Nurse in California.
• Certification in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
• Knowledge of regulatory, legal, and clinical standards, with strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability skills.
• Eligible for Medicare/Medi-Cal enrollment.
