Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

About This Role

This role involves administering anesthetic care for diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical procedures at a busy eyes-only surgery center. The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist will perform pre-anesthetic assessments, develop care plans, and manage anesthesia during procedures, working in a fast-paced environment focused on high-quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document a pre-anesthetic assessment and evaluation of the patient
• Develop and implement an anesthetic plan of care, including monitoring modalities and post-anesthesia follow-up evaluation and care
• Select, obtain, and administer the anesthetic plan of care, including induction, maintenance, and emergence phase anesthesia
• Recognize alterations in physiologic responses to the surgical procedure and/or the anesthetic, take appropriate action, and notify the responsible physician as indicated
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) from the Florida Board of Nursing
• Current licensure as a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) from the Florida Board of Nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Graduate of an accredited CRNA program
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in a stressful environment

Important Details

• Physical Requirements: Requires full range of motion; manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time and the ability to lift and transport patients. Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids. Ability to work under extreme pressure.
• Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
