What You'll Do
As a CNA, you'll work under the supervision of licensed nursing staff to provide direct patient care and support, including:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
- Monitor and document vital signs, height, weight, and patient observations.
- Report changes in patient condition or behavior to licensed nursing staff.
- Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Prepare exam and treatment areas.
- Assist nurses with routine procedures and patient care activities.
- Collect and transport specimens according to facility protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Keep patient care areas clean, organized, and stocked.
- Collaborate with nurses, providers, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient care.
Schedule
- Rotating 8-hour evening shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Assigned holidays required
Qualifications
Required
- Active Wisconsin CNA Certification (or eligibility for reciprocity)
- Minimum 1 year of CNA experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a secure correctional healthcare environment
Preferred
- Experience in correctional healthcare, hospital, long-term care, behavioral health, rehabilitation, or medical-surgical settings
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Comfortable working with diverse patient populations
