Catering Supervisor

About This Role

This Catering Supervisor position at American Dining Creations involves overseeing and coordinating catering operations, leading a team of event staff, and ensuring high standards for event success. You will focus on creating memorable guest experiences, efficiently managing resources, and fostering a positive work environment in collaboration with the on-site Catering Director.

Responsibilities

• Supervise front and back of the house day-to-day catering procedures
• Serve as a contact for catering services prior to and after events, ensuring needs and expectations are met or exceeded
• Oversee delivery, setup, breakdown, and execution of catering events
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination of logistics, food preparation, and service delivery
• Develop and implement service standards and procedures to uphold quality and consistency across all events
• Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of catering event staff, including servers, bartenders, drivers, and support staff
• Monitor the quality of food, portion control, and dietary provisions as requested
• Provide excellent customer service to all guests
• Field and resolve any requests or challenges that may arise during events, ensuring guest satisfaction
• Assist in the development and implementation of marketing strategies to promote catering services
• Take inventory for catering equipment, supplies, and keep all catering items in top condition
• May be assigned other duties and responsibilities as needed

Requirements

• 3+ years' catering and event planning experience in hotels, conference centers, private clubs, universities, or similar environments
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong leadership and organizational skills, detail-oriented, and customer-focused
• Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Knowledge of food safety and service regulations
• Familiarity with industry trends and innovations
• Proficient with computer skills including Microsoft Office, CATERTRAX, and other online order systems
• Able to work a flexible schedule that may include weekdays, evenings, and weekends
• Must be able to lift 50lbs, push and pull heavy catering carts, bend, climb stairs, stand, and walk for the entire scheduled shift

Important Details

• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with no nights or weekends; hours may vary based on scheduled events
