Responsibilities
- Operate cash registers efficiently, accurately handling retail sales transactions and cash drawer management
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries
- Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits, encouraging customer engagement and sales
- Upsell complementary products to enhance customer satisfaction and increase store revenue
- Maintain knowledge of store merchandise, including retail store product knowledge and merchandising standards
- Assist with stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring the sales floor is tidy and inviting
- Handle phone inquiries professionally, demonstrating strong phone etiquette and communication skills
- Support cashiering duties during busy periods, ensuring quick checkout processes and minimal wait times
- Apply basic math skills for accurate cash handling, change calculation, and transaction balancing
- Participate in inventory management tasks such as stock replenishment and product rotation
Experience
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment preferred but not required; training provided for motivated candidates
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash register operations essential for smooth transaction processing
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership skills are a plus for supporting team efforts
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Experience in retail sales, merchandising, or grocery store operations enhances your ability to excel in this role
- Strong communication skills coupled with excellent phone etiquette help foster positive customer interactions
- Basic math proficiency is necessary for accurate cash handling and transaction management
