About This Role
Caring for customers by providing fast and friendly service is the core of this cashier position. You will process transactions, answer questions, and ensure customers have a positive experience, potentially also working as a sales associate or merchandiser/stock associate. This role is referred to internally as a Front End Team Member and reports to the store management team.
Responsibilities
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, including identification verification, payment handling, answering inquiries, promoting the loyalty program, and bagging product
- Deliver exceptional service and a personalized experience by greeting customers, engaging to build relationships, and informing them about products and services
- Participate in wine, spirits, and beer training to build product knowledge
- Maintain knowledge of advertisements, promotions, and loyalty programs
- Maintain safety and cleanliness standards across the store
- Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations related to the sale of alcohol and maintain a safe and compliant store environment
- Complete cross-functional responsibilities and other duties as assigned
- If this job posting is coded as a seasonal role, you can expect this position to be short term, no longer than six months, and you will have the option to apply for a non-seasonal role
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Passion for best-in-class customer service and team player mindset
- 1-3 years of work experience, 1+ years of experience in a retail setting preferred
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as business requires, including evenings and weekends
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Ability to walk, bend down repeatedly, and be on feet for 8-10 hours a day
- Ability to safely lift, load, and handle cases and pallets
- Ability to climb ladders and lift 50 lbs. overhead and repeatedly
- May be exposed to various outdoor weather conditions throughout the workday
