Job Details:

General Summary:

This position is responsible for the timely and accurate reconciliation of consolidated store bank accounts. Specific functions include correcting store over/short issues relating to bank deposits, researching missing deposits, debit memos, etc. through utilization of online information or direct contact with the respective bank, and final resolution of reconciling cash items through utilization of Lawson and ReconNet software.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile consolidated bank activity to the general ledger.
  • Identify and communicate over/short and missing deposit issues.
  • Research District manager and store manager questions and issues.
  • Research bank zero account activity.
  • Assist with special projects.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Strong PC skills – Lawson and ReconNet (formerly J. Driscoll) experience a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of the bank reconciliation process.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to proactively recognize issues and resolve any potential
    problems.
  • Strong written and verbal skills to effectively communicate with management and outside institutions.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with peers and management.
  • Ability to be a team player with good customer service skills.

Work Experience &/or Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree or 2 years toward Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of applicable experience in retail accounting.
