Caseworker 2

About This Role

The Caseworker 2 performs social service casework and case management for children, adolescents, and their families by conducting interviews, assessing needs, and case planning. This merit hire position involves establishing and maintaining confidential records and collaborating with legal staff in judicial and quasi-judicial proceedings concerning clients' well-being. The Caseworker 2 may also assign tasks to a Social Service Aide and reports to the Caseworker Supervisor.

Requirements

• Six months of experience as a CYS Caseworker 1
• Or successful completion of the Social Casework Intern program
• Or a bachelor's degree with a social welfare or Social Work major
• Or a bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, social work, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences, and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social services agency
• At the time of hire, a valid driver’s license and positive driving record
• Favorable criminal background check, child abuse and FBI clearances
• Favorable references
• Proof of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license within 60 days from the date of hire (an alternative form of identification will be accepted if not eligible to receive a Pennsylvania driver’s license under 67 PA. Code § 83 and driving is not an essential function of the position)
