As a CAS Assessor, you'll conduct comprehensive assessments for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings while working independently and making a meaningful impact across New York.
Position Overview
- Position: CAS Assessor (OPWDD)
- Employment Type: Full-Time
- Location: Chenango, NY
- Work Setting: Home and Community-Based Assessments
- Pay Rate: $27.00 per hour
- Weekend Availability: Required as needed
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in one of the approved disciplines listed below.
- Minimum of one (1) year of post-graduate experience working directly with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in a setting primarily serving the I/DD population.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency with computers and electronic documentation systems.
- Valid New York State driver's license or government-issued NYS ID.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout the assigned region.
- Availability to work weekends when needed.
- Proof of degree (diploma or official proof of completion) is required.

Preferred Qualifications
- At least one year of experience conducting assessments for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Experience adapting interviewing techniques for individuals with varying communication abilities.
- Ability to effectively engage individuals, families, caregivers, direct support staff, and healthcare professionals.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality standards.
