About the role
Under supervision and using tools and materials for general carpentry, the Carpenter performs repairs, new installations, and preventive maintenance according to industry standards in the trade. The Carpenter performs a full range of rough and finished skilled carpentry work, including fabrication and/or assembly of furniture, doors, cabinets and countertops, and installation of trim and wall accessories. Performs other tasks by assisting all other trades as directed as well as general maintenance tasks.
This is an “Essential Personnel” position, which can require that the incumbent must report for duty and work through emergencies, and also can be designated by the supervisor as essential for the accomplishment of work, or for the completion of a critical task.
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three years of carpentry experience.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in layout and construction of both metal stud and wood stud sheetrock wall systems, including hanging and finishing sheetrock wall systems.

Experience in the construction of various door systems in walls and both sheetrock and suspended acoustical ceiling tiles.

Experience in millwork and floor finishing work.

Ability to complete daily activities according to work schedule.

Ability to climb ladders, lift and carry materials and equipment with a weight up to 45 pounds.

Ability to follow directions and work with minimal supervision.

Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and team members.

Ability to pass a background check.

Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends.
