Caregiver

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED), required
• Must have current First Aid, CPR, and Medication Management Certifications (if required by state) and maintain through training and ongoing education as required
• Must be age 18 or older
• Must complete required Background clearances, health screening, and provide negative TB test results within 7 days of employment (must be within the last 6 months)
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak English and follow written and spoken directions
• Must possess the ability to interact effectively, deal tactfully and professionally with personnel, residents, family members, and guests of diverse backgrounds always
• Must possess the ability to make sound, independent decisions when circumstances warrant, remain calm, and effectively manage stressful or emergency situations
• Must possess strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills
• Must be dependable, respect confidentiality, and the rights and privacy of others
• Ability and willingness to work independently without day-to-day oversight and supervision
• Must display a positive and professional image in accordance with the MBK values
• Must be mobile and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, including walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, pulling, reaching overhead, and repetitive motion
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push up to 250 pounds, as necessary
• Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday, in the community, and between neighborhoods
• Ability to assist in the physical movement of residents during routine transfers and in emergency situations

Nice to have:

• Food Handler’s Card preferred; training will be provided if required and not already held
• Nurses Aid Certification, preferred unless required by the state
• 1+ years of prior caregiving experience within a similar work environment preferred; on-the-job training is available for candidates with the right attitude and desire
