About This Role

This night-shift post on the cardiac ward pairs patient care with mentoring new nurses. As a Cardiac Thoracic ICU Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery. Every day, you will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, making critical assessments, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing patient care plans. Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes for the patient
• Represent the organization in a positive manner
• Apply negotiation and conflict management strategies
• Organize and prioritize patient care activities balanced with the needs and comfort of the patient
• Document the nursing care plan and incorporate the nursing process following the standard of care for patient care area
• Document changes in patient condition and response to interventions within established timeframes
• Demonstrate accountability for own ethical behavior, and support ethical practice by addressing and/or escalating issues
• Recognize limits of scope of practice, seek multidisciplinary collaboration, utilize appropriate resources, and follow chain of command
• Assume accountability for decisions made
• Serve as an advocate for patients' needs by demonstrating holistic care practices
• Use knowledge of cultural differences to provide patient care that is sensitive to and consistent with cultural values, beliefs, and customs
• Demonstrate the ability to recognize and adapt to changes in patients' condition (i.e. Lab, vitals, signs and test values) in a timely and clinically appropriate manner
• Utilize SBAR format tool to notify physicians and other providers of clinical findings
• Perform nurse-to-nurse report at the bedside

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Registered Nurse: AZ
• One (1) year recent acute care experience
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 months
