Position Summary
$7,500 Sign-On Bonus for eligible candidates A Cardiac Sonographer/Echocardiographer is a credentialed medical professional with academic and clinical experience to use imaging technology to help physicians diagnose heart problems in patients. They operate ultrasound equipment that provides moving 2-D or 3-D images of the heart and its chambers. The scope of practice includes those procedures, acts and processes permitted by law, for which the individual has received education, clinical experience and completed ARDMS- RDCS and/or RVT or CCI- RCS registration, which is the standard of practice in Ultrasound.
Minimum Requirements
- High school or higher (or equivalent)
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current ARDMS (RDCS or RVT) or CCI (RSC) registration/certification
- 8 years of experience as Cardiac and/or Vascular Sonographer

IMPORTANT: This position is listed as Cardiac Sonographer IV, but based on the minimum requirements that are met, the candidate of choice will be hired as a Cardiac Sonographer I, II, III or IV.

About ECU Health Chowan Hospital ECU Health Chowan Hospital in Edenton is a 25-bed critical access hospital which provides programs and services to 110,000 people in 6 counties. The facility offers medical and surgical services, including intensive care, a specialty care clinic and a dedicated outpatient surgery area with endoscopy capabilities. A 7-bed emergency department serves approximately 15,000 patients per year and team members at the facility have access to a telemedicine link with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
