About the role
Role Overview: The CT Technologist applies expertise to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience. They work independently, operating imaging equipment, capturing diagnostic images, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, preparing patients, explaining procedures, administering contrast, positioning patients, reviewing images, and documenting accurately in RIS/PACS systems. They respond to emergencies, support department operations, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology
- Certifications: ARRT - R (Radiography), ARRT - CT, and BLS from the American Heart Association
Key Duties
- Perform CT procedures adhering to department guidelines
- Operate imaging equipment safely, adjusting techniques for optimal results
- Maintain cleanliness and report equipment issues
- Obtain patient history, verify orders, and ensure patient safety using AIDET communication
- Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout procedures
- Administer contrast media using sterile techniques when needed
- Review and optimize images, documenting procedures accurately
- Respond to emergencies, monitor patient condition, and assist with life-support equipment
- Organize workflows, support department operations, and maintain regulatory compliance
