Role Overview This position involves providing direct patient care in a cardiac catheterization lab, utilizing critical thinking, clinical expertise, and critical care skills to assess and monitor patients' hemodynamic, neurologic, and respiratory responses during procedures. The nurse administers conscious sedation, manages airway safety, and advocates for patient needs throughout care.
Responsibilities Include
- Promoting patient and family-centered care, including education on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration.
- Participating in safety, quality, and regulatory activities, as well as ongoing professional development.
- Developing, implementing, and documenting individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, patients, and families.
- Assessing physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient preferences, cultural, spiritual, and population-specific factors.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum education: Nursing Diploma/Associate's Degree; preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Licensure: Valid RN license.
- Experience: No prior experience required; however, 2+ years of bedside experience and critical care, emergency, or cardiac cath experience are preferred.
- Additional requirements: Ability to work safely, live within 30 minutes of the hospital for call duties, and accept ADN/BSN/MSN candidates.
