I. Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and customer-oriented CBAM Sales Manager (or Senior CBAM Sales Specialist) to support business development activities across Mainland China. The successful candidate will focus on the steel and aluminium value chains, promoting CBAM-related verification, carbon footprint assessment, EPD verification, recycled content certification, and other sustainability assurance services.
The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of GHG accounting and verification, a solid understanding of CBAM regulations, and proven experience in the steel and/or aluminum industries. This role requires frequent customer interaction, proposal preparation, tender management, and close coordination with verification and auditing teams.
II. Job Responsibilities (starting from verbs, with % of time spent on specific tasks) Business Development & Sales
- Develop and expand CBAM-related business opportunities across the entire steel and aluminum industry value chains in Mainland China.
- Identify customer needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers, industry associations, and stakeholders.
- Conduct customer visits, technical presentations, seminars, and business development activities.
Proposal & Tender Management
- Prepare quotations, commercial offers, RFQs, RFPs, and tender documents.
- Analyze customer requirements and coordinate internal resources to develop competitive technical and commercial proposals.
- Prepare client-facing presentations, technical documents, service descriptions, and promotional materials.
- Support contract negotiation and commercial discussions.
Technical Support & Project Coordination
- Act as the primary communication interface between customers and verification/audit teams.
- Coordinate project execution to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Support technical discussions
- Monitor market developments, regulatory updates, and customer trends related to CBAM and carbon management.
Market & Regulatory Intelligence
- Maintain current knowledge of CBAM regulations and implementation requirements.
- Track developments in carbon accounting methodologies, sustainability reporting requirements, and industry best practices.
- Support the development of new service offerings related to carbon and sustainability assurance.
III. Job Requirements (knowledge, Experience, Skills, Abilities, Etc.)
- Education
- Bachelor's degree or above.
- Academic background in Engineering, Environmental Science, Materials Science, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Sustainability, or other relevant science and engineering disciplines.
- Professional Experience
- Solid experience and good understanding of GHG accounting rules and CBAM related markets.
- Working experience or project experience in steel and aluminum industry is highly appreciated.
- Professional working experience in carbon verification/auditing and advisory is highly appreciated.
- Language Requirements
- Fluent in both English and Chinese.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, including technical and commercial documentation writing.

- Strong business development and consultative sales capabilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical experts, auditors, and clients.
- Strong proposal writing and presentation skills.
