About This Role
Managing the scheduling of physicians and coordinating patient appointments is the core of the Call Center Strategic Scheduler role. This position suits individuals with strong customer service skills and experience in a healthcare setting, who can efficiently handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Make and receive incoming and outgoing calls for various locations
- Monitor and maintain physicians' daily schedules
- Manage same-day and next-day openings on schedules
- Work closely with office managers to assist with rescheduling patients
- Manage physicians' daily schedules to fill open slots and cancellations
- Adjust schedules to accommodate patients
- Manage electronic and paper referral processes
- Monitor and remove unused holds by the end of the business day
- Handle daily tasks from different departments and physicians
- Coordinate messages to providers with Admin MAs
- Reschedule patients when providers close their schedules last minute
Requirements
- High school diploma with equivalent work experience
- Call center experience
- Customer service skills
- Minimum of 2 years of medical insurance experience
- Minimum of 2 years of related healthcare office experience
- Proficient computer skills including Electronic Health Records and Excel
- Strong telephone etiquette
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical skills for evaluating medical necessities
- Organizational skills to manage multiple requests simultaneously
- Problem-solving skills for navigating complex issues
