Responsibilities

• Install, test, and repair various cabling systems such as Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic cables, and telecommunication wiring in diverse environments
• Conduct network installations including Ethernet setups, Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, and VoIP systems to ensure optimal performance
• Use schematics, technical diagrams, and blueprints to accurately execute wiring layouts and troubleshoot issues effectively
• Perform fiber splicing and low-voltage electrical work with precision to maintain high standards of quality and safety
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment to diagnose faults and repair network hardware or cabling infrastructure
• Provide exceptional customer service by explaining technical solutions clearly and ensuring client satisfaction during on-site visits
• Maintain detailed documentation of installations, repairs, schematics updates, and service reports for accountability and future reference

Requirements

• Proven experience as a service technician or cable technician working with telecommunication systems or network infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), Ethernet standards (Cat5/Cat6), and telephony systems such as Avaya or VoIP
• Hands-on experience with fiber splicing techniques and equipment repair in data centers or similar environments
• Familiarity with schematics, NEC (National Electrical Code), Low Voltage wiring codes, and electrical safety standards
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic devices efficiently
• Knowledge of Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, network installation procedures, and telecommunication hardware
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to clients
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; willingness to travel locally for field service assignments
