Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Cable Technician to join our team and deliver exceptional telecommunications and network installation services. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining a wide range of cabling systems, including fiber optics, Ethernet, and low-voltage wiring. Your expertise will ensure seamless connectivity for our clients by adhering to industry standards and safety protocols. Duties
- Install, test, and troubleshoot various cabling systems including Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic cables, and telecommunication wiring in commercial and industrial environments.
- Perform fiber splicing with precision to ensure high-quality data transmission and network integrity.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to guide installation processes.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as ohmmeters for cable testing and equipment repair.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about project progress and troubleshooting issues efficiently.
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of telephony systems like Avaya and equipment used in data centers or telecommunication setups.
- Ensure all work adheres to safety protocols related to electrical work, cabling standards, and OSHA regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician or cable technician with a strong background in telecommunications.
- Hands-on experience with fiber splicing techniques and testing.
- Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, and specialized equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Knowledge of VoIP systems like Avaya or similar telephony platforms is a plus.
