Cable Assemblies Technician

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cable Assemblies Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for building, inspecting, testing, and troubleshooting cable assemblies and wire harnesses in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and established quality standards.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, and comfortable working with precision tools and electrical test equipment. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure assemblies are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and assemble cable assemblies, wire harnesses according to drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
• Perform wire cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, terminating, labeling, and routing.
• Inspect completed assemblies for accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
• Identify and troubleshoot wiring, assembly, and component issues.
• Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
• Follow established quality, safety, and manufacturing procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve assembly issues and meet production schedules.
• Support continuous improvement efforts and assist with other manufacturing tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ year of experience in cable assembly, wire harness assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and assembly instructions.
• Familiarity with wire stripping, crimping, soldering, splicing, and cable termination techniques.
• Experience using hand tools, precision tools, crimpers, and electrical test equipment.
• Basic computer skills and ability to document production and inspection results.
• Ability to meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards.
• Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to learn new processes and equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing assembly work.
• Ability to use small hand tools and perform detailed, repetitive work.
• Ability to lift and move materials within a typical manufacturing environment.
