About This Role

This new position supports purchasing activities across all locations, ensuring the achievement of continued growth and customer commitments. The Buyer will procure raw materials, purchased components, and outside processing services through RFQs and purchase orders to support production schedules. The role involves close collaboration with various teams to ensure material availability, supplier performance, and accurate ERP system execution.

Responsibilities

• Be a hands-on, self-motivated, hyper organized, highly detailed, and results-oriented Buyer supporting machining, warehouse, and connector/cable assembly operations company-wide
• Operate existing tools and the company's ERP system to manage purchasing activity, supplier commitments, inventory levels, and material availability
• Ensure accurate, timely, and complete transaction execution to support company-wide data integrity and the goal of achieving >90% On-Time Delivery with industry-leading lead times
• Maintain visibility of purchased material needs and, with input from Sales and Engineering teams, determine suppliers, request and evaluate quotes, negotiate pricing and terms, execute purchase orders, and follow up with suppliers
• Ensure required materials are available to support the production schedule
• Create, release, and manage external purchase orders for raw materials, purchased components, and outside processing services in alignment with approved planning priorities, demand signals, and usage trends while avoiding excess, obsolete, or duplicate inventory
• Actively manage open purchase orders by confirming supplier commitments, delivery dates, and quantities
• Proactively expedite, communicate, and escalate risks related to delays, shortages, or quality issues that may impact production or customer delivery

Requirements

• BS or BA degree preferred
• 2+ years of experience in a Buyer, Purchasing and/or Procurement role working with raw materials, hardware, and/or technical components
• Strong working knowledge of ERP / MRP systems (Fishbowl experience preferred), including accurate transaction execution, data maintenance, and purchasing-related reporting
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including running and analyzing reports, working with data from multiple sources, and using formulas to support purchasing decisions and operational needs
• Must be comfortable and have the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment that is subject to continuous innovation and improvement
• Experience working in an ISO9001:2015 / AS9100D certified manufacturing environment
• US resident (due to access to restricted ITAR compliant information)
