Busser

About This Role

This busser role is a front-of-house team member position focused on maintaining the dining room by pre-bussing and bussing tables quickly and efficiently. It involves aiding other front-of-house positions by cleaning tables and floors, and stocking various items. The role suits someone with a positive attitude who enjoys teamwork and personal development in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with the host/hostesses, servers, bartenders, and management team to ensure tables are updated in the seating system
• Pre-bus tables in the dining room when all dirty tables are clean
• Bus and clean tables inside the restaurant and on the patio, and help clean the bar top
• Replace sanitizer in spray bottles and buckets as needed to ensure safety and sanitation
• Clean, disinfect, and sanitize work areas before, during, and after shifts
• Assist with stocking glassware, water bottles, plateware, silverware, dishes, etc. as needed
• Complete assigned daily and weekly cleaning projects
• Complete daily restaurant maintenance program

Requirements

• A positive attitude and desire to learn and grow
• Able to place plates, utensils, pans, and cases on high and low shelves
• Reading, writing, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to follow directions exactly as expected
• Ability to work fast, safe, efficient, and accurately for periods of up to 10 hours per day
• Attention to detail
• Mobility required during the entire shift
• Ability to transport cases up to 50 pounds as many as 20 times per day
• Ability to carry bus tubs full of dishes and miscellaneous items from the tables, throughout the entirety of the restaurant repetitively, for periods of up to 6 hours
• Able to respond in emergency situations to avoid imminent dangers to self and others
• Regularly required to navigate throughout the restaurant and communicate with guests
• Regularly required to move and grasp items up to five pounds
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Bend and stoop
• Adequate vision to be able to discern cleanliness throughout the restaurant and operate a touchscreen
