About This Role

Building and scaling the operational systems that support a fast-growing AI security and IT platform is the core of this role, reporting to the Head of Operations. This position suits a candidate with strong operational judgment to identify key problems and the technical capability to build solutions, focusing on automation and system integration to enhance team capacity.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain integrations and automations across the internal stack to facilitate data movement between systems
• Write custom code (scripts, services, jobs) when off-the-shelf tooling is insufficient
• Build internal applications that replace manual processes and improve user experience, iterating with users after launch
• Implement AI agents and model-driven steps into workflows with appropriate evaluations, guardrails, and human oversight
• Own automation quality end-to-end, including logging, error handling, monitoring, retries, secrets management, and clear ownership for breakdowns
• Integrate human approval steps into processes involving money, access, or the ledger to maintain controls
• Partner with Data and Engineering on pipelines, source-of-truth definitions, and reliable reporting
• Map current workflows by observing people doing the work and identify steps that can be automated
• Redesign workflows collaboratively with process owners, taking responsibility for the redesign and build
• Evaluate and select new tooling when buying is more efficient than building, and manage its implementation
• Baseline the pre-automation state, instrument the post-automation state, and report on the actual impact, including when efforts do not pay off

Requirements

• 4-6+ years building and scaling operations with a technical focus (e.g., business operations, product operations, revenue operations, business systems, analytics engineering, or a technical role with a business drift)
• Demonstrated experience building a system that runs autonomously, including its replacement, failures, debugging, and continued operation after your involvement
• Hands-on proficiency in Python and SQL for data reading, reconciliation, and movement across systems
• Strong understanding of integration fundamentals: REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, auth patterns, and debugging broken integrations from logs and API responses
• Ability to build with AI, utilizing coding agents and shipping model-driven systems with evaluations and guardrails
• Experience building internal applications (e.g., Retool, Streamlit, small web apps) and iterating based on user feedback
• Sufficient business literacy to understand and credibly redesign processes like AR, AP, close, and forecasting, knowing when to defer to control owners
