Business Intelligence Developer

About This Role

This role is for an experienced Power BI Developer to work with clinicians and managers across the organisation, developing impactful dashboards and insights from concept through to delivery. The Business Intelligence (BI) - EDW Developer / Analyst provides a pivotal role to the advancement of performance reporting across Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD).

Responsibilities

• Report to the Principal Systems Analyst
• Work collaboratively with all members of the Performance team
• Plan and execute projects from design phase through to post implementation evaluation
• Apply high level expertise and knowledge of BI tools to build analytics solutions for the Local Health District to support the management of health service
• Apply knowledge of health data sets, such as EDWARD, to analyse, test and validate data quality, especially during the transitioning to SDPR
• Provide high level and strategic advice and analyses
• Achieve work priorities
• Operate with minimal supervision, demonstrating leadership and sound judgment in managing allocated portfolios

Requirements

• Power BI
• SQL (Microsoft SQL Server and/or Snowflake)
• Strong stakeholder engagement and analytical skills
• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Management or Health Administration and/or extensive experience in performance reporting and Business Intelligence tool development within a large organisation
• Experience with analysing and using health datasets
• Experience with NSW Health EDWARD data warehouse is essential
• Experience as a Power BI developer with strong all-round skills in design and development of interactive analytic tools
• Experience in the development of Business Intelligence tools within a project framework involving scoping, design, user acceptance testing, business continuity planning, access and maintenance planning and post-implementation evaluation

Important Details

• Schedule: 38 hours per week
• Contract: Temporary Full Time until 29 November 2027 (with possibility of ongoing employment)
